Andreas Bauer talks about current successes, future plans, and reveals how PKE entered the logistics industry.
More than five years ago, VLS Engineering GmbH was fully integrated into PKE Deutschland GmbH. For the 10 years prior, PKE had already been connected to VLS as a partner and customer. During this time, we successfully realized numerous logistics projects in Austria and Southeast Europe together.
The main reason for the merger was our assessment that the logistics industry is a very promising and future-proof target market. After five highly successful years, we feel more than confirmed in our assumption.
Another reason was the connection of our hazard management system AVASYS® and the solutions from VLS. Through the convergence of solutions in the field of building and security technology and those in the logistics sector, we can continuously develop our joint know-how and offer a complete package. This way, our customers have a single point of contact for all concerns. Additionally, all our customers benefit from the short distances and fast response times enabled by our 12 locations throughout Germany.
The result is not only a multitude of successfully implemented projects and satisfied customers but also a tripling of the office space at the Cologne location to 1,500 m², which we moved into at the end of January 2023. This location in Cologne/Hürth will become the new NRW headquarters of PKE with the connected branches in Düsseldorf/Ratingen and Dortmund.
The extraordinarily strong growth of the VLS product is based on the continuous further and new development of solutions, as reliability and future security have the highest priority in our projects.
In 2018, we were the first provider to introduce BLE tracking in the logistics sector, which has since gained increasing popularity. Meanwhile, more than 500,000 m² of our customers' logistics space is equipped with BLE tracking.
In August 2022, the latest version of the video management software VLS.pro Enterprise 4.0 was launched, which was completely redeveloped parallel to the introduction of BLE tracking. Recently introduced was the new research software VLS xVision, which is already being used in beta version by some of our customers and is set to be launched at the end of the first quarter of 2023.
The past successes strengthen us in our path with VLS and make us curious and very confident about the future, in which we will continuously develop our services and products to provide the greatest possible support to our customers in the logistics industry. We look forward to it.
